RE/UPCYCLE ALPACA BY INCALPACA
In a context where fast fashion is gaining strength among consumers and the use of synthetic and ephemeral materials is favored by brands, Alpaca fibre is becoming a bright spot for a more sustainable and eco-friendly fashion world. The use this fibre in Incalpaca’s garments and products allows them to show their customers that luxury and environmental responsibility can co-exist.
At Incalpaca they are aware of the environmental impact of their manufacturing process and although they know that alpaca fibre is a more sustainable material, it is important to find ways to reuse the waste of this natural fibre to create a more conscious, circular and sustainable fashion. In this way, as part of their commitment, they have developed a highly specialized unit and system to create high quality, durable, ecological and inimitable luxury garments from leftovers, by-products, deadstock and waste, taking advantage of the great qualities of alpaca fibre.
The Re/Upcycle Alpaca project has been recognized in the German Design Awards 2024, organized by the German Design Council, which awards excellence in design based on innovation, industry impact and commitment to sustainability. At Incalpaca they are proud to have achieved the ‘Gold’ level in “Eco Design” category, the highest award in the event. This recognition underlines their commitment to sustainable innovation, the environment and our community. With Re/UpCycle, we can recycle more than 120,000 kilos of fibre per year and reduce the impact of their manufacturing process, promoting a green and sustainable business model.

The Peruvian textile company has been honoured in 2024 with a prestigious eco-design prize from the German Design Awards for its RE/UPcycle Alpaca project.
The prize was awarded in the ‘Excellent Product Design – Eco Design’ category and underlines the brand’s efforts and commitment to creating a product line made from regenerated natural fibre textile waste that is given a new life in everyday products, according to the company.
‘RE/UPcycle Alpaca is characterised by its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility at every stage of the design and manufacturing process. From the careful selection of recycled materials to ethical production practices, the project embodies Incalpaca’s core values of creating high-quality products with minimal impact on the environment,’ Incalpaca said in its concept.
The German Design Award is internationally recognised for its rigorous judging process and its focus on design excellence, Incalpaca said.
“We are thrilled and honoured to have been awarded ‘Gold’ at the German Design Awards,” said Diego Saca, Marketing Manager. “This success reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainable innovation and spurs us on to continue leading the textile industry towards responsible practices,” he added.

Today, we are excited to introduce you to artisan:re, who connects cotton farmers with fair markets and focuses on a full approach of sustainability as they cultivate organic cotton and create yarns and fabrics that blend intricate textures with eco-conscious practices for responsible luxury.
At artisan:re, they are revolutionizing agriculture by championing the needs of farmers and artisans. Since 2021, they’ve been dedicated to addressing critical issues like soil degradation and water mismanagement among others through innovative and sustainable practices. Their work spans across regions of Vidarbha and Telangana, where they’ve empowered over 1,000 farmers with the help of regenerative farming techniques.
They are actively working to connect farmers with equitable markets, enabling them to earn a premium for their produce and fostering prosperity and sustainability within their communities.
Sustainability is at the heart of everything they do, seamlessly merging traditional farming with cutting-edge techniques. Their commitment extends to cultivating organic cotton, where each fiber is produced with utmost care and responsibility. artisan:re specialises in all things cotton. They connect their 1,000 farmers to markets for both unprocessed and processed products, including seed cotton, cotton lint, and yarn. Currently, they grow NPOP certified organic cotton using regenerative practices with an average staple length 29 to 31mm and mic of 3.9 to 4.3 which is ideal for spinning into yarns and counts up to Ne 40s. They also offer NPOP certified naturally coloured cotton with average staple length of 23.7 mm to 26.5 mm and mic of 4.1.
“Their commitment extends to cultivating organic cotton, where each fiber is produced with utmost care and responsibility. Their yarns and fabric showcase this dedication, combining intricate textures with eco-conscious practices to create pieces of responsible luxury.”
As they spread to new regions and transition more farmers into growing organic cotton, they look to include rain-fed extra-long staple length cotton in their portfolio thereby decreasing dependency on ground water and be more sustainable.
Each strand of their yarn tells a story of artisanal craftsmanship and environmental stewardship. Join them in embracing a future where every creation reflects a commitment to comfort, elegance, and sustainability.

COLLECTION’S NEWS BY CANCLINI1925
PER LEI by Canclini – Grandi & Rubinelli – Blue1925
“BEL VESTIRE” dress well… Two words that inspired Canclini to create the Autumn.Winter 2025/26 collections of their brands, each one respecting its own original DNA. “Il Bel Vestire”: that’s the way they meant to express themselves about a new formal way, because men want to be well-dressed again. They want to feel elegant and refined, wearing quality clothes that give them a well-groomed appearance, which not only enhances their positive perception by others, but also their self-confidence and self-awareness.
Smart-formal will replace the smart-casual as seen in recent seasons. This “new formal” will take men’s wardrobe to a more elegant and refined level, without compromising on comfort and suitability. Hence the research for new fabrics, such as Dice to provide continuity to performance fabrics that allow the shirt to be reinterpreted in a new way.
Italy – S 1 | C 114
At this point, they think of a man who becomes a “collector”, searching for a new elegance through garments and fabrics such as Ten ten and Vis mel, which, thanks to the quality of the fabrics, last longer and therefore provides more sustainability. The wardrobe becomes a true collection, thanks to the different garments and variety of fabrics that it contains.
With their collections, Canclini wants to support precisely this type of man who loves the more formal part of their Grandi & Rubinelli range, with rigorous constructions in the richest blends such as Sea Island cotton and North Sea cashmere or Alasilk silk, but who also loves the innovation of new articles that he can find in Canclini1925: more particular and sometimes experimental or provocative fabrics, up to the most iconic ones such as Melton and its varieties. Skillfull their idea of using new blends such as Tencel or Micromodal to make the feel of the fabric even more fluid and distinctive.
The same man also likes the Blue1925 collection where he can take the opportunity to have different denims: from the more formal ones to those that allow him to show innovative and renewed shirts in different weights. And eco-sustainable fabrics.
For women, Canclini offers the smart Per Lei collection. The real distinguishing feature: to be able to wear the variety of fabrics in a more original and unique way, from cottons with special finishes, to imaginative prints, to flowing silks or ultra-light flannels.
The new collections represent a new urban elegance, multi-purpose and versatile, which manages to bring together different personalities and generations. With particular attention to the past, which is always part of their DNA, with an eye towards the future. Come discover the novelties of Canclini’s collections at the KLAAS + HESSE studio at S1 | C 114.

PONGEES
Shades that fit into the top colour stories for autumn/winter are being promoted by silk specialists Pongees to meet immediate demand from designers looking to place last minute orders. Pongees holds more than 10,000 fabrics in stock and has a 1 metre minimum; it can also supply European buyers with fabrics within a few days, without any additional import charges, just as it did pre Brexit.
The colour stories being promoted, predicted by global consumer and design trend and colour authorities WGSN and Coloro are: Intense Rust, Midnight Plum, Sustained Grey, Cool Matcha and Apricot Crush. “Two years ago, these shades were selected to reflect stability and reassurance that connect with nature, as well as escapism and sustainability. Today they are even more appropriate given how cautious consumers are about the future,” says Nick Moore, managing director, Pongees. “With our huge colour palette, Pongees not only offers the top shades for autumn/winter but also those being tipped for spring 2025 collections.“ Silk is also in vogue, as from an environmentally-friendly perspective it comes from a natural source, is biodegrabable and has a low environmental impact.” Many of Pongees silks are woven from silkworms, whose exclusive diet is the mulberry leaf; its plain dyed fabrics meet OEKO-TEX standards. Pongees’ natural (greige) options are an ideal base for designers to personalise with bespoke prints and dyes to enhance exclusivity.
